Judd & Black Appliance is celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2020 after launching at the start of World War II, surviving the upheaval of 9-11 and now facing the uncertainties of the coronavirus pandemic.
“We’re humbled by so many years of support that we’ve received from customers and employees,” said company president Bob Long, a third-generation owner of Judd & Black Appliance.
Long said the retailer will continue its philosophy of giving back to the community by donating $10 to local food banks, up to $25,000, for each appliance order at any of its locations from April 16 to May 10. The food banks are Skagit Valley Neighbors in Need, Bellingham Food Bank, Volunteers of America Everett Food Bank, Lynnwood Food Bank, and Marysville Community Food Bank.
Judd & Black Appliance is a locally owned and family operated independent appliance retailer with six locations in Skagit, Snohomish and Whatcom counties. Listed as an essential business by the State of Washington, Judd & Black Appliance continues to offer sales, delivery, installation, parts and service on over 25 of the top appliance and barbecue brands.
Customers may visit stores or contact them by phone or on the Judd & Black Appliance website. Customers who come to stores are asked to practice social distancing and not shake hands inside them. “We are taking extra precautions to keep our customers and team safe,” Long said.
The company’s Mount Vernon store is located at 2520 Cedardale Road, just east of Interstate 5’s Cedardale Road interchange. The Mount Vernon store is open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. weekdays, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturdays and 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Sundays.
