On Sunday, May 9, we will take time to celebrate our moms and thank them for all they do. For many of us, that includes a large, mouth-watering meal that mom does not have to cook or clean up after! There is nothing like sitting down with our family and taking time to just enjoy our moms. Here are some places to have Mother’s Day brunch in Skagit County.

A fancy tea is always a fun outing, and it’s really perfect for Mother’s Day, considering brunch first occurred in England in the 19th century, when “taking tea” was still very much a thing. The Old Town Grainery Tea Room is having a full tea for Mother’s Day, with finger sandwiches, scones (served with lemon curd and cream!), fresh fruit and mini desserts, including a decadent tart with chocolate ganache and a London fog pana cotta. Five finger sandwiches will be offered: chicken salad; egg salad with avocado; cucumber with lemon dill cream cheese; roast beef on a French roll; and pimento cheese. The tea will start with a house salad, quiche or soup. They will also have mimosas along with their selection of premium loose-leaf teas. They will have sitting times both Saturday and Sunday on Mother’s Day weekend from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations are required. Their Mother’s Day brunch tea will also be available to go. Orders will need to be placed no later than the Thursday before (May 6).
