With an abundance of shops and art galleries located directly downtown, Mount Vernon offers many possibilities for any couple ready to enjoy a special night with each other. If you’re a couple looking to indulge in an elegant night, Mount Vernon has several restaurants that maintain an ambiance that will make you feel like you’re enjoying a night in the city.

The Lincoln Theater

The popular and historic Lincoln Theater constantly offers a large variety of different events, shows, and live bands to help tie in an exciting night. And its location is right next to some of the most popular restaurants in Skagit County. To wrap up your night, enjoy a beautiful stroll along the newly constructed boardwalk as you watch the sunset slowly sink away.

Located right in the heart of downtown Mount Vernon is Valley Shine Distillery, a small boutique distillery that serves top shelf spirits as well as inspiring craft cocktails that will make you keep coming back. Their menu of delicious, locally grown food is constantly changing as the seasons come and go and are inspired by local meats and produce. If you plan to have date night on a weekday, I recommend scheduling it on Thursday so you have the chance to enjoy their one-of-a-kind flight nights where you can try four featured cocktails that are as creative as they are delicious!

Brewing beer that offers a Pacific Northwest feel,  Skagit River Brewery is the perfect place to dine with your loved one. They offer 24 taps of popular favorites from all over the Pacific Northwest. With its dark ambiance that pairs perfect with a romantic evening and an amazing menu, Skagit River Brewery offers many possibilities that can cater to anyone.


Burlington

Right in the heart of Skagit County lies the town of Burlington, a perfect location that offers a variety of restaurants and bars with mouthwatering options allowing anyone to find the perfect place to enjoy date night. After having a romantic dinner, you can take a short 15-minute drive towards the outskirts of Burlington and embrace the beauty of Bay View State park. Bring your blankets and bundle up along the sandy beach and witness the sky transiting from a beautiful sunset, to sea full of stars.

Have you ever tasted wood fired pizza? If you’ve had the chance, your mouth is probably watering right now just thinking about it. If you’re dying to know what it tastes like, then head to local favorite Railroad Pub & Pizza. Located right off Fairhaven Avenue, Railroad Pub & Pizza is a great restaurant for date night. Like many, I consider myself a pizza connoisseur and love finding places that have their own unique twist on this classic Italian dish. Railroad may be famous for their pizza, but they also offer salads and sandwiches, in case your significant other isn’t in the mood for pizza.

Anacortes

Anacortes is a great location for anybody looking for a romantic night on the town. Take a walk down by the marina while admiring the sunset or if you prefer, take a drive out to Washington Park Beach where you can see the natural beauty that makes Washington what it is. From beautiful beaches to the calm, intimidating forests, it’s a romantic spot to spend a day or evening.

Looking for a fun, laidback, atmosphere that offers some of the best brews in the Valley? Look no further than Bastion Brewing Co. Located right off highway 20 heading west towards Anacortes, Bastion is the perfect place for the couple who loves upbeat atmospheres. Bastion Brewing is one of my personal favorite places to go when I’m looking for a casual date. Wednesday nights make a for a great mid-week break, especially with their trivia nights. They offer a casual dinner menu and the choice of over 14 different beers.

If you’re a couple that loves to try new, unique takes on culinary art, or you just want to enjoy a delicious pot of French press coffee outside under the stars after a night on the town, I highly suggest A’Town Bistro . Their entrées bring a rustic, old world flare with ingredients that are as local as you can get. A’Town Bistro strives to bring the Pacific Northwest into every meal they make.
