On Sunday, May 9, we will take time to celebrate our moms and thank them for all they do. For many of us, that includes a large, mouth-watering meal that mom does not have to cook or clean up after! There is nothing like sitting down with our family and taking time to just enjoy our moms. Here are some places to have Mother’s Day brunch in Skagit County.
Old Town Grainery Tea Room
100 E Montgomery St, Mt Vernon
A fancy tea is always a fun outing, and it’s really perfect for Mother’s Day, considering brunch first occurred in England in the 19th century, when “taking tea” was still very much a thing. The Old Town Grainery Tea Room is having a full tea for Mother’s Day, with finger sandwiches, scones (served with lemon curd and cream!), fresh fruit and mini desserts, including a decadent tart with chocolate ganache and a London fog pana cotta. Five finger sandwiches will be offered: chicken salad; egg salad with avocado; cucumber with lemon dill cream cheese; roast beef on a French roll; and pimento cheese. The tea will start with a house salad, quiche or soup. They will also have mimosas along with their selection of premium loose-leaf teas. They will have sitting times both Saturday and Sunday on Mother’s Day weekend from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations are required. Their Mother’s Day brunch tea will also be available to go. Orders will need to be placed no later than the Thursday before (May 6).
Lorenzo’s Mexican Restaurant
221 Central Street, Sedro-Woolley
Lorenzo’s Mexican Restaurant is celebrating Mother’s Day with a special menu! They will be open at 11 a.m., so mom can sleep in before heading out to brunch. They will have mimosas and margarita specials all day, as well as a special menu that is being finalized.
414 Commercial Avenue, Anacortes
If you want a taste of French cuisine without needing a passport, head to Paris Restaurant on Mother’s Day. This brunch spot in Anacortes will featured mimosas, including yummy rhubarb; beignets; smoked salmon toast; eggs benedicts; and omelets. There will be a few other specials for Mother’s Day that are still being finalized. Reservations are requested. Brunch is available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Another great option for Mother’s Day brunch in Skagit County is The Curious Chef in Burlington. They have a large breakfast menu that’s served until 3 p.m., meaning there is no rush to get out the door in the morning. They have many omelets, including seafood, Italian, and Mexican. They have an extensive menu, with all your favorites including eggs benedict, raspberry French toast, crepes, and eggs served in many ways. They also have breakfast burritos and quesadillas. Let mom sleep in, watch some tv, and then head to Riverside Cafe.
