Are you ready to put on your red, white, and blue? It’s time to celebrate and this year it feels like we have even more to celebrate than usual as things slowly go back to normal. July is the perfect time to do this, with warm weather for barbecuing, and of course, fireworks! Here is what is happening for 4th of July Fireworks and events in Skagit County.

Loggerodeo in Sedro-Woolley

While the 2021 parade is cancelled, the Loggerodeo people wanted to make sure you still had fun this Fourth of July and has some of your favorite events happening at the longest running Independence Day celebration in America!
On July 1, take in the homes as they are judged for the house decorating contest (or decorate your house and participate!) There is also a business decorating contest that will also be judged on the same day. Be sure to send in applications if you want to participate!
Then, get ready for all the foot-stompin’ action of the annual rodeo! This year, the rodeo will take place on July 3 at 7 p.m. and July 4 at 2 p.m.
A favorite annual event, the chainsaw carving competition, will be held this year as well, from July 1-4.
And on July 4, you won’t want to miss the beard contest or the fireworks! Fireworks will be around 10 p.m. For more information, including a detailed scheduled, visit the Loggerodeo website.
Also happening in Sedro-Woolley is the Sedro-Woolley Rotary footrace on July 4. Check-in happens at Sedro-Woolley High School gym from 7:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. Race starts at 9:30 a.m. with staggering for safe distance protocols. Pre-register for the race before July 1 for the early-bird price of $25, that includes a t-shirt. Register after July 1, for $25 with no t-shirt. Ages 14 and under or 70 and over can race for free and buy a t-shirt for $10. Proceeds go to the Rotary scholarship fund. The Big Lake Fireworks show has been a Skagit County Fourth of July tradition since 1963, when it was started by volunteer firefighter Lyle Robbins. The show is free and is put on by a nonprofit, fully funded through donations made by the community throughout the year. Fireworks will begin at dusk, weather permitting. The City of Anacortes is excited to announce their parade and fireworks are both back for 2021! This year, the Patriotic Parade will start at 11 a.m. at 3rd Street and Commercial Avenue. The parade goes down Commercial Avenue from 3rd Street to 10th Street, and on 3rd Street from O Avenue to Commercial Avenue.
Want to be part of the fun? You can register online to be a participate in the Anacortes July 4th Parade. This year, no items may be handed out for the safety of all. This includes candy, beads, literature, etc.

4th of July Fireworks in Mount Vernon

While this year’s event is a bit different, it is still sure to be fun! There will be no entertainment, food, music or games, but there will be a ton of spectacular bangs and colors at the 4th of July Firework Show in Mount Vernon. You can bring your own snacks to enjoy, along with a blanket or chairs. Don’t want to cook? Head to a local restaurant for some yummy take out before hitting the park. No personal fireworks, alcohol, canopies or barbecues allowed. Be sure to bring a flashlight to find your way after the show. For more information visit the Mount Vernon website.
4th of July Concrete Caravan

The City of Concrete wanted to make sure that people could celebrate the 2021 Fourth of July in some way, and so they came up with the Concrete Caravan! This year, in what they call a reverse parade, you can get all dressed up in your red, white and blue, pile into your car, and hit Main Street to Town Center with the rest of the city! Keep an eye out for fun characters along the route!
Once you make it to town center, there will be popcorn and ice cream at our lovely Concrete Theatre, served curbside. Still hungry? You can also get a carry-out meal from Lonestar Restaurant. Then continue your cruise to Bear Square! There, you will find live music provided by the popular Marcia Kester.
Have a home or business on the Caravan route? The City is encouraging you to spruce it up and deck it out for the holiday! Then, be outside to wave and watch the caravan go by!
