There is nothing like heading out to a local farm and getting a farm-fresh pumpkin to herald in the fall season! From creepy to cute, no matter how you decorate the pumpkin is at the heart of Halloween décor. Here are the details on the 2024 pumpkin patches in Skagit County.

Tips for visiting local pumpkin patches:

  • Early in the season will give you the best selection.
  • Go early in the morning to avoid the crowds.
  • Put cardboard or plastic garbage bags in your car to keep it clean.
  • Wear comfortable shoes for walking.
  • Be ready for the weather: that could mean sunscreen or an umbrella and a raincoat!
  • Bring cash, though some accept cards, it’s good to be prepared.
  • Bring gloves.

Fall activities start in October

Schuh Farms is open for the season with all the fun you could want from a Skagit pumpkin patch. They have a tractor train, hayride and 3-acre corn maze every weekend in October.

Come in any day of the week to visit the farm store with fresh-made pies, scones and cookies. They have pre-picked pumpkins and other squash too! Kids can play in the Yellow Brick Road play area!

You-pick pumpkins are also available in their three fields, featuring a variety of pumpkins and other squash. Don’t forget to refresh yourself with local apple cider and pick up some fall decorations for your home in their barn. Finish the day visiting their goats and chickens! Gordon Skagit Farms is another lovely pumpkin patch in Skagit farm to visit. You will be greeted with over 150 variety of pumpkins and other squash upon your arrival! These artistic displays are free for you to wander through – no admission required.

Their u-pick pumpkin patch in Mount Vernon is open daily and is filled with pumpkins. Whether you are looking to bake or carve, they have the squash you need for your fall table.
