The west entrance of PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center will close permanently on Monday, July 28 at 11 p.m. Starting Tuesday, July 29, patients, visitors and vendors should enter PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center using the East Tower entrance. The East Tower entrance on the other side of the facility from the closing entrance, diagonal from the Clocktower Building and next to the PeaceHealth St. Joseph Childbirth Center.
The WTA bus stop in front of the PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center will also close July 29. The closest bus stops to the hospital are near Ellis Street and Squalicum Parkway. WTA has proposed another bus stop near the Central Parking Garage but has not set an installation date.
Signage, flaggers, greeters and security officers will direct visitors and patients during construction. PeaceHealth volunteers will help direct visitors to their destinations inside the hospital. Interior signage will be updated and maps will be available. An updated campus map and parking map will be posted on peacehealthimpact.org, the dedicated website for construction updates.
The nearest parking will be in the North Parking Garage or the Central Parking Garage, both a short walk to the East Tower entrance. From Ellis Street, visitors will want to turn right/east onto Squalicum Parkway and take the first left into the main campus. From the north, visitors will want to turn onto Squalicum Parkway from Birchwood Avenue, take the first left into the campus and turn left again to navigate to the North Parking Garage.
Additional accessible parking spaces are available for patients on the main level of the Squalicum Surgery Center parking garage adjacent to the hospital, on levels 1 and 2 of the Central Parking Garage and in front of the Childbirth Center.
To assist our Emergency Department patients and visitors, we’ve designated 33 parking spaces immediately to the left of the south campus entrance from Squalicum Parkway, and 52 parking spaces along the hillside driveway directly across from the ED entrance.
Visitors will still need to check-in with the Security desk at the East Tower entrance, while patients can go directly to the reception desk.
