Are you ready for sweater weather? August is almost over, and with September and October come a host of fun fall events that everyone loves. Whether you are looking forward to one last run, haunted walks or festivals, we have plenty of things to do as we chase the last days of blue skies. Fall Events in September

Skagit Flats Marathon

September 14

The flattest Boston Marathon qualifier in Washington, the Skagit Flats Marathon, is happening once again in September 2025. Registration is capped at 800 participants, so register early. They run a full and a half marathon.

29th Annual Fall Garage Sale and Car Show

September 19-20, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Skagit County Fairgrounds
501 Taylor Street, Mount Vernon

If you love garage-saling, hunting for antiques or hot cars, you won’t want to miss the 31th Annual Fall Garage Sale and Car Show at the Skagit County Fairgrounds. There will be over 170 vendors, a car show, live music, food and more!  On Saturday, the annual car show takes center stage with $25 registration for anyone who wants to enter. Skagit Valley Giant Pumpkin Festival

September 20, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

If you’ve been looking for the Great Pumpkin, the Skagit Valley Giant Pumpkin Festival is your event! Christianson’s Nursery & Greenhouse puts on this fun fall event in Skagit County, featuring a giant pumpkin weigh-off, food vendors, games, live music, hay mazes and things for the kids to do. Event is free.

40th Oyster Run

September 28
Anacortes

It’s time to shine that hog and get ready for the largest motorcycle run in the Pacific Northwest. The Oyster Run is a free event that has no starting or stopping point! Just pick a route and ride to Anacortes. There, you will find vendors, live music and good food. Don’t have a bike? All are welcome! Find more information on the Oyster Run website.

B’town Fall Fest

September 27-28, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Maiben Park

The B’Town Fall Fest is a free Family event that happens every year in Burlington. For 2025, this fall event is happening at Maiben Park. There will be two days of family fun, including a kids’ zone with fun activities like zucchini car building, live entertainment, vendors, food vendors and more!

Skagit Valley Festival of Family Farms

Skagit Valley Festival of Family Farms is an amazing way to view the spectacular fall colors at some of Skagit County’s most beloved farms. Use the farm map on their website for your self-guided tour. Farms will have activities for the whole family to enjoy and may include exhibits, demonstrations, rides, free samples, mazes and more!

Concrete Ghost Walks

Nothing gets you into the spooky season more than a ghost walk! Concrete Ghost Walks start at the Concrete Theater and give you the inside scoop on those that might be walking among us at night. Your guide will retell true stories and legends about people who lived…and died…in the area. Guests must be over the age of 16 for this ghoulish night of fun that is more of an immersive experience than a simple walk…just go and see. Brew on the Slough

Scarin’ Up Some Fun 5K Glow Run/Walk
