Are you ready for pumpkin season? Ready or not, it’s here! Kids are back in school and the mornings are chilly. Be ready for all the fun of Halloween and fall with a trip to our local pumpkin patches. Here are the details on the 2025 pumpkin patches in Skagit County.

  • Early in the season will give you the best selection.
  • Go early in the morning to avoid the crowds.
  • Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk. Mud is almost a certainty later in the season!
  • Be ready for the weather, that could mean sunscreen or an umbrella
  • Bring cash, though some accept cards, it’s good to be prepared.
  • Bring gloves.
  • Put cardboard or plastic garbage bags in your car to keep it clean.
  • Know before you go. Contact the pumpkin patches ahead if you want to know specific things, like dog policies, pumpkin variety availability or ADA accessibility.

September 26 – October 26

Blackwood Farm is a pumpkin patch in Sedro-Woolley. There farm stand is open starting September 26. You can leave money in the cash box or pay with Venmo. If you decide to visit the farm Friday through Sunday, they have lots of pumpkins to choose from, miniature farm animals you can feed and plenty of photo ops. Be sure to say, “Hi” and pet the pig!

Don’t forget your pumpkin! Blackwood Farm has the perfect carving pumpkins for you and your kiddos, along with some Cinderella pumpkins, jack belittles and sugar pumpkins – for those you enjoy baking! Bundles of cornstalks will be for sale while available.

Fall activities start in October

Schuh Farms is open year-round, but the fall fun starts in October! They have a tractor train, hay rides, corn maze, bounce house and more, including a Yellow Brick Road Play area. The farm store has lots of goodies to eat there or take home and enjoy. Be sure to check out the fall décor items for sale and the mixed flower bouquets for your table or to give to a loved one.

When it comes to pumpkins, they have three fields to choose from and both you-pick and they-pick pumpkins. Enjoy local apple cider after picking out the perfect pumpkin. For more information, visit the Schuh Farms website.

With over 150 varieties of pumpkins and squash, Gordon Skagit Farms is where to go if you want selection. This Skagit pumpkin patch has culinary pumpkins, carving pumpkins and all kinds of heirloom and specialty pumpkins for decorating your porch and tables! The u-pick field is open all October long.

After finding the perfect pumpkin, enjoy their artistic displays, check out the fall mums and autumn wreaths to add color to your porch and enjoy some local cider, hot or cold. Finish off the day by selecting some local honey to take home for all that fall baking.
