There is nothing like the smell of a fresh Christmas tree to let us all know the holiday are upon us. Whether you are looking for a modest two-footer or a tree so big it would make Griswold proud, you can find one at a local farm right here in Skagit County. Supporting local families while getting all your decorations to deck your halls and even gifts for those on your list is a win for everyone. Big Lake Trees

Big Lake Trees will be back open this year for u-cut trees. They have grand, noble, and Nordmann firs as well as Norway spruces in a variety of sizes, from three to eight feet tall. Douglas firs they have as tall as 12-foot for those looking for a grand statement! If you would like to avoid crowds, mid-week and post-season appointments can be made by calling 360-422-5124.

McLean Christmas Tree Farm
15621 Penn Road, Mount Vernon
Opening November 27
The McLean Christmas Tree Farm has over 12 acres of Christmas trees, including Fraser, Douglas, and Nordmann firs, blue and green spruce, and pine. You can head out with a wagon and a saw for u-cut, or select from their fresh cut trees. Check out their farm animals including donkeys, geese and chickens. Pacific Winds Farm

Pacific Winds Farm is under new owners, the Yumen/Hansen family. They are going to be closed for this season as they transition but are excited to be open in 2021!
Henderson Holly Farm
264 E. Troxell Road, Oak Harbor

Just a hop, skip and a jump away from Skagit County is Henderson Holly Farm. After you have picked out the perfect tree, this is a fun stop to get everything else you may need: from wooden reindeer to fresh cut holly swags and centerpieces. They have boxed loose holly, wreaths, crosses and candy canes. Even berry tips to add a pop of color to your greenery.
National Forest Trees
You can head to the woods to find that perfect Christmas tree, as long as you have a permit for our local National Forests. For Just $5 you can get a Christmas Tree Permit. Trees cannot be taller than 15-feet. New this year, permits are being sold online and are available now. Go to Recreation.gov to purchase a Olympia National Forest Christmas Tree Permit.
