Cozily located in Bellingham’s Sunnyland neighborhood, Twin Sisters Brewing Company offers great beer, delicious food, and excellent ambiance. Its campus features the soaring ceilings of a beer hall-style restaurant, the intimate quarters of a taproom, and the sun-soaked (at least during the summer) bliss of a spacious beer garden.
If you’ve ever visited and thought that any or all of their facilities would be ideal for a special occasion, now might be the perfect time to consider the venue for your next indoor or outdoor event. With dates filling fast since fully reopening from the pandemic, Twin Sisters offers banquet settings for groups of all sizes.
Twin Sisters doesn’t charge room rental fees, either, instead choosing to base pricing on food and beverage minimums via guest count and time of event (weekday versus weekend).
“We don’t charge for every little thing,” says Bridget Parsons, Twin Sisters’ event manager. “We try to make it pretty inclusive. People are always very happy.”
From a dedicated banquet staff experienced in catering customized events, the brewery can be the perfect location for your next wedding rehearsal, birthday party, business meeting, company party, sales presentation, or family gathering.
The following spaces are available for rental:
Brewery Tasting Room
An engaging escape hidden within a working brewery, Twin Sisters’ tasting room offers a “speakeasy” vibe with 18 on-tap beers and a private bartender.
Courtyard
This outdoor area, between the restaurant and tasting room, features a park-like setting complete with picnic tables, beer service window, and a semi-private location. With room for up to 80 people, it’s often rented in conjunction with the tasting room.
Mezzanine
A semi-private loft overlooking the restaurant below, Twin Sisters’ mezzanine can hold events for 60 to 75 people. A versatile space good for many gatherings, the mezzanine offers a contemporary design and satellite bar.
Whole and Partial Venue Buyout
For very large events of up to several hundred people, the entirety of Twin Sisters’ space can be rented out. The outdoor beer garden area can also be rented in what is considered a partial venue buyout.
Regardless of the type or size of event, Twin Sisters offers full drink service and personalized guidance to satisfy each client’s particular vision. The size of catering staff depends on the number of guests but consists of a minimum of two servers who do a bit of everything, from set-up to busing tables to bartending.
“We always make sure we have plenty of staff to ensure things run smoothly,” says Parsons. For all banquet events, a special catering menu is made available. The taco bar is always a big hit.
“People rave about it,” Parsons says. “The tacos on our regular menu are also one of our most popular options. The taco bar is fun, and it’s a good price point.”
Pretzel bites are also extraordinarily popular with guests.
“They’re delicious little pillows of heaven,” she adds.
Events are typically booked to occur during the brewery’s standard operating hours, which are 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays, noon to 10 p.m. on Fridays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays. Events are typically booked for three hour windows, but longer event times can be negotiated.
As for availability, Parsons says weekends in August are filling up fast. Plenty of weekday event slots, however, are still available. September dates are also filling, after which things slow down until December, when many holiday business parties are booked at the brewery.
As COVID-19 vaccinations and eased restrictions enable people to gather together again, Parsons says recent banquet events have resulted in a particular sense of appreciation by those who’ve booked them.
“People are just so excited to be able to gather again,” she says. “We haven’t been able to for so long. So being able to come back and have that human connection, people are really valuing that.”
