Earth Day is coming up once again and there are many activities in April that you can participate in to celebrate our planet. Volunteer to clean up our natural areas, plant a tree or learn about conservation – whatever you decide to do, it all helps us take care of this planet we call home. Here are some things to do for Earth Day 2024 in Skagit County.
Earth Day Anacortes

Bring your family and friends to a joyful community celebration of Anacortes Earth Day on Saturday, April 20. Beginning at 4 pm, Commercial Avenue will be closed to traffic and open for you to discover more than four blocks full of opportunities to honor our natural surroundings and have fun. Stay for the two parades, The Procession of the Species at 5 pm and the Luminary Light Parade at 8 pm. More than 20 nonprofit exhibits will demonstrate how they safeguard our surroundings. Celebrate Earth Day 2024 in Mount Vernon at Hillcrest Park. This free event will have volunteer opportunities, educational exhibits, giveaways, games and free refreshments.

The Skagit Land Trust is doing an Earth Day Work Party and you’re invited! Help them move invasive species and plant native plants and shrubs in the Utopia Conservation Area along Wiseman Creek. Refreshments will be provided. Sign up on the Skagit Lant Trust website.
