2024 Fall Activities in Skagit County

Pumpkin spice and everything nice, ghostly hosts and haunted coasts! That time of year is fast approaching, and Skagit County has plenty of fall activities from Anacortes to Concrete. Whether you are looking for a 21-and-over party or a day out with the family, there is something for everyone on this list. Check out the 2024 fall activities in Skagit County.

Skagit Flats Marathon

The annual Skagit Flats Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K is happening again in Burlington. This race is one of the flattest Boston qualifiers in the United States. The marathon uses Northwest Endurance chip timing and they have a huge clock at the finish so you can see your time. Learn more and sign up at the Skagit Flats website.

29th Annual Fall Garage Sale and Car Show

September 20-21
Skagit County Fairgrounds
501 Taylor Street, Mount Vernon

The 30th Annual Fall Garage Sale and Car Show at the Skagit County Fairgrounds has everything you want in a fall festival: classic cars, vendors, live music and food. There will be over 170 vendors with everything from antiques to TVs. On Saturday, the annual car show takes center stage with free registration for anyone who wants to enter. Skagit Valley Giant Pumpkin Festival

September 21, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Head to Christianson’s Nursery & Greenhouse for the incredible Skagit Valley Giant Pumpkin Festival! There will be a giant pumpkin weigh-off, food vendors, games, live music and more! Get your face painted, try your luck in the hay maze and more.

40th Oyster Run

September 22
Anacortes

The Oyster Run is the largest motorcycle run in the Pacific Northwest! A free event, it’s unique in that it has no starting or stopping point – pick a route and ride – just make sure you end up in downtown Anacortes! There, you will find vendors, live music and good food. The event is free and all are welcome, even if you’re walking, driving or sailing! Find more information on the Oyster Run website.

B’town Fall Fest

Burlington’s annual B’town Fall Fest is a free festival with two days of family fun including a kid’s zone, arts and crafts, live entertainment, vendors, food vendors and more! Try the pumpkin sling contest or paint a pumpkin. For more information, watch the B’town Fall Fest Facebook page.  

Skagit BigFoot Fest

September 27-29
Skagit County Fairgrounds

Learn about all things Sasquatch at the Skagit BigFoot Fest in Mount Vernon! The event has live entertainment, food and local beer, vendors, a step-by-step painting class, Sasquatch calling contest, costume contest, kid’s activities and more. There is also a 5K fun run. Proceeds go to Children of the Valley and Camp Korey. To buy tickets, visit the Skagit BigFoot Fest website. Kids under 5 and bigfoot costume wearers get in free!

Bier Near the Pier

Bier Near the Pier is back with a new name, new venue and lots of fun! Head to Anacortes for this fall activity that includes sampling breweries and cideries while you enjoy live music and amazing food. Skagit Valley Festival of Family Farms

Various farms

Skagit Valley Farm Tours show off the beautiful rural areas of our county during one of the prettiest seasons. Just use the farm map on their website for your self-guided tour. Activities at each farm will vary, but may include education exhibits, demonstrations, kids’ activities, free samples, corn and hay mazes, pumpkin patches, animals and more. Concrete Ghost Walks

Head to Concrete during October for their spooky Ghost Walks! Your guide will take you through the streets of Concrete, retelling true stories and legends about people who lived…and died…in the area.  Guests must be over the age of 16 for this ghoulish night of fun. Reservations are required and can be made by visiting the Concrete Chamber office. Concrete Ghost Walks are typically on Saturdays, but 2024 days are to be announced. Brew on the Slough

Brew on the Slough is a great fall activity in La Conner for the 21-and-over crowd. Sample local beers, stroll the boardwalk, and eat your fill at the top restaurants on your route. There will be live music and tons of fun. For more information, visit the Love La Conner website.

Scarin’ Up Some Fun 5K Glow Run/Walk

October 19, 6 p.m.
Northern State Recreation Area

The Sedro-Woolley Chamber of Commerce invites you to put on a costume and run like a werewolf is chasing you! Check In starts at 5 p.m. The run/walk will be around the barns and buildings and it will be spooky, so they caution bringing children and dogs. To sign up, visit the Run Sign Up website. Halloween Spooktacular

October 19, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
1901 Hoag Road, Mount Vernon

The Skagit Valley YMCA is having a fun-filled night for the whole family – and it’s free! There will be Halloween-themed carnival games, pumpkin patch, Halloween-themed arts and crafts, vendors and more! Put on your costume and have some spooky fun!

Fall Spooktacular Market
