For Skagit County, maybe the age-old saying should be, “March showers bring April flowers,” because the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival brings a kaleidoscope of colors to our county every April. The soil in Skagit County is similar to the soil in the Netherlands and is perfect for cultivating tulips while celebrating our Scandinavian heritage. For 2025, enjoy a tulip parade, art exhibit, a brand-new tulip field and more. Here is your guide to the 2025 Tulip Festival in Skagit County.
“It’s a one-of-a-kind celebration of nature, color, and community,” shares Jae Glen with the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. “The tulip bloom is a fleeting but magical sight that only lasts a few weeks each year.”

New Events at the 2025 Skagit Valley Tulip Festival
The 2025 tulip festival has a lot of new and fun events for you – so even if you have gone in years past, you will not want to miss this year!
“I’m especially excited for this year’s festival as we introduce new experiences like the Tulip Festival Original Art Exhibit and a KidZone at the annual Tulip Parade,” shares Nicole Roozen, executive director of the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. “Beyond the beauty of the blooms, the festival plays a vital role in supporting our local businesses and nonprofits, making a lasting impact on our community.”
First, the Tulip Parade on April 5 in downtown La Conner will have a KidZone this year. Kids can head to the marina parking lot for games, face painting, ice cream and more. The KidZone will be open from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. The 38th annual Tulip Parade and Pet Parade will follow at 2 p.m.
Another new event is the Tulip Festival Original Art Exhibit. The exhibit will open April 5 and run through April 11 at The Local Shop, 817 MetCalf Street in Sedro-Woolley. The Tulip Festival poster is created by a Washington artist each year. In the past, the public has only ever seen the winning artist’s final product in the form of a poster, this new event will highlight the artists in the area while giving Festival goers a look into its past by showcasing the original art. “Thanks to support from the City of Sedro-Woolley and the Anacortes Arts Festival, visitors will get to see these original works up close, learn about the artists behind them, and appreciate how the festival has been captured through art over the years,” shares Jae.
New Tulip Field in Mount Vernon at Skagit Acres
2025 marks the opening of Skagit Acres’ new tulip field! Skagit Acres is owned by Rachael Sparwasser and managed by Spinach Bus Venture Group, who also manages Tulip Town.
“Unveiling the first-ever tulip farm in South Mount Vernon is incredibly exciting,” said Rachael, who grew up near the tulip fields on the west side of Mount Vernon. “To be able to offer folks an extraordinary new option for immersing themselves in the beauty of spring as we spread the tulip love to this part of the valley is truly special. We can’t wait to welcome tulip lovers to our farm, and we know our proximity to 1-5 is always an added bonus!”
The field features 17 varieties of tulips: van eiik, didi, purple prince, garant, kingsblood, greedland, formosa, candy prince, candela festival, hakuun, ollioules, purple flag, red impression, la romaine, novi sun, toronto and red parade.

As you wander the rest of the farm, look for other varieties of tulips and daffodils planted throughout! The farm will have food trucks, live music and shopping in their garden center and gift shop.
